Case Study Whyalla Port Expansion Electrical Equipment Rooms Description Status: Completion by end of November 2012 Scope: Supply four (4) Electrical Equipment Rooms, One (1) HV Room and one (1) Control Room for the Whyalla Port Expansion. Construction Provided In April 2012, Total Electrical Construction Pty Ltd was awarded the contract to provide six (6) Electrical Equipment Rooms for the Whyalla Port Expansion. The contract was a design and construct package, with the final Equipment Room to be delivered on site by the end of November 2012. Total Electrical Construction Pty Ltd has completed 13,000 labour hours to date, with the delivery of the first 4 rooms taking place from the 25/09/2012 to the 29/10/2012 with the final deliveries in November.
The EER Construction Contract included:-Construction works included Structural Steelwork (Sub Floor and Wall Framing), Surface Treatment, Fire Proofing and Detection, Internal and External Cladding, Electrical Fit Out, Sub Floor Cable Ladder Systems, Installation of Air Conditioners and Installation of Electrical Equipment (MCC’s, Distribution Boards etc.).
-Individual design and engineering by our ‘in house’ engineers to accommodate our client’s layout for the required Electrical Equipment.
-Varied room sizes ranging from 11.88m long x 5.06m wide x 4.29m high with a total weight of 14 tonnes, to 16.82m long x 5.7m wide x 4.29m high with a total weight of 30 tonnes.
-Transportation of Equipment Rooms to their final location.
